Understanding transfer expiry
Every transfer on PDFStore has an expiry date. Once a transfer expires, its files are permanently and automatically deleted from our servers. This is a core part of how PDFStore protects your privacy.
Expiry periods by plan
- Free plan — transfers expire after 7 days
- Pro plan — transfers expire after 30 days
The expiry countdown begins from the moment you create the transfer, not from when the recipient first downloads it.
What happens when a transfer expires?
- The download link stops working. Anyone who visits it will see a message indicating the transfer has expired.
- All files associated with the transfer are permanently deleted from PDFStore's servers.
- The transfer will still appear on your dashboard as "expired" for reference, but the files themselves are gone.
Can I extend an expiry?
Currently, it is not possible to extend the expiry of an existing transfer. If you need the recipient to have access for longer, you can create a new transfer with the same files.
Early deletion
You do not have to wait for a transfer to expire. You can delete any of your active transfers at any time from your dashboard. See Deleting transfers for instructions.
