Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 April 2026

Welcome to PDFStore. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PDFStore website at pdfstore.co.uk and all related services (the "Service") operated by PDFStore ("we", "us", or "our").

By using PDFStore, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What PDFStore Does

PDFStore is a file transfer and temporary storage service. It allows you to upload files and share them with others via a download link. Files are stored temporarily and automatically deleted after a set expiry period. PDFStore is not a long-term storage or backup service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use PDFStore. This is the age of digital consent under UK law (the Age Appropriate Design Code and UK GDPR). By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. Accounts

You can use PDFStore without creating an account for basic file transfers. Some features may require registration.

During our invite-only beta period, account registration is restricted to users who have received an invitation. We reserve the right to limit or close registration at any time.

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Free Tier

The free tier of PDFStore allows you to:

  • Upload up to 2 GB per transfer
  • Files expire and are automatically deleted after 7 days

We may introduce paid tiers with higher limits in the future. Any changes to the free tier will be communicated in advance.

5. File Storage and Deletion

PDFStore provides temporary file storage only. All uploaded files are automatically and permanently deleted after the transfer expiry period (7 days for free transfers). Once a file is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

Do not use PDFStore as your only copy of any file. We are not responsible for data loss.

6. Your Content and Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of any files you upload to PDFStore. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. We do not access, view, or analyse the contents of your files, except where required by law or to enforce our Acceptable Use Policy.

By uploading files, you grant us a limited licence to store and transmit those files solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Prohibited Uses

You must not use PDFStore for any purpose that is illegal or violates our Acceptable Use Policy. This includes, but is not limited to, uploading malware, sharing illegal content, or using the Service to harass others.

Please read our Acceptable Use Policy in full. Serious violations may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.

8. Password-Protected Transfers

You may choose to protect a transfer with a password. If you do, it is your responsibility to share that password securely with your intended recipients. PDFStore does not have access to transfer passwords and cannot recover them if lost.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep PDFStore available and reliable, but we do not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the Service (or any part of it) at any time for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice where possible, but this is not always practical.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • PDFStore shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount of fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. If you have not paid any fees, our maximum liability shall be £50.
  • We are not liable for any loss of data, including files that are deleted after expiry or due to technical issues.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.

11. Termination

You may stop using PDFStore at any time. If you have an account, you may delete it through your account settings or by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate your access to PDFStore at any time, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. In cases of serious or illegal conduct, termination will be immediate.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use of PDFStore after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
